I love brunch and deciding what to wear to a brunch date is half the fun. While it can be a casual affair, it is also an opportunity to dress it up a bit.
I love trying new restaurants and there are so many great ones in the Birmingham area these days. We decided to go to Big Bad Breakfast in Homewood. Some friends of ours eat there weekly and I had been wanting to give it a try, so when we made plans to meet our former boss lady for brunch, we chose the location in Homewood, AL, which is close to her home.
So.
Now you’ve chosen a brunch location, and you’ve invited friends to join you…
What will you wear???
Well, it’s August in Alabama and shorts are definitely in order, but to step it up a little, a romper is the way to go! It is more dressy than shorts, and more casual than a dress. And that is the perfect attire for brunch.

*Yes, it’s a bad bathroom selfie, complete with dangling curling iron cords, work clothes thrown on the chair, makeup all over the counter, and probably a dirty mirror, but it’s real life and the way I live.*
My Stitch Fix stylist sent me this romper about a month ago, and I have to say, that when I pulled it out of the box I immediately disliked it. Intensely!
I didn’t like the print, or the sleeves, or the tie belt, or the material.
But when I tried it on, magic happened. The shorts were not too short and the border print was very attractive. The mock tie neck was flattering. I still didn’t like the sleeves, but they work when pushed up.
Made by Market & Spruce, the Fraya Knit Romper turned out to be my favorite item in my Stitch Fix box and the only piece that I kept.
The bold print on the romper is rather busy, so the only styling I did was to add nude wedge heels and a bracelet.
Do you get out to brunch often? What would you wear to a brunch date?

I would rather go out to brunch than any other meal. I like that I can have pancakes and dessert!! Your outfit is perfect for summer time brunch dates. I haven’t gotten on the jumpsuit/romper bandwagon but have been eyeing a jumpsuit at JCP. Maybe I need to take the plunge. Look how great you look in yours. That pattern is so pretty and your legs, girl…mmm, mmm, mmm, amazing!
Awe Leslie, you are so kind! And YES to pancakes (with whipped cream and strawberries!) AND dessert! 🙂
