As much as I like the idea of decorating for each season, I often find myself just too tired and weary to do much when it involves getting into the attic and bringing down the tubs of decor and worse yet…. getting the tubs put back away! So when I can, I go for the easy and mostly free decor. Easy and free is a combo that I really like. You can do this by using what you already have, even if you used it last year and the year before! And yet, you can update your past front porch fall decor quite easily so that it feels fresh and new.

Two years ago:
Using only things that I already had on hand and armed with an inspiration picture, I was able to find a quick and easy, but yet gorgeous fall look for the front porch. The idea is to create your own version of the inspiration picture by using similar items, not exact. See the inspiration picture and my full front porch decor HERE.

While blue is not the usual or standard color for fall, when I found some in the fall decor aisle I had to have some for my front porch. See the full blue fall front porch decor HERE.
Update Past Fall Decor:
When I started thinking about decorating my front porch this fall, I came up with a totally new look by combining the past two years decor into one. Blue and yellow are my two favorite colors and I use them inside almost exclusively, so it makes total sense to carry the color scheme outside.
Reusing the background pieces from both years set the stage. Free yellow flowers (goldenrod) that I cut from the side of the road was a repeat from two years ago, and then I added the same blue flowers from last year in with them.
To update and make it fresh, I brought out a straw hat to place on the bench and hung two small wreathes on each side of the front door.
And as easy as that, the front porch fall decor was DONE! Reuse what you have by thinking of it in new ways. No need to spend a lot of money.
I really like how the yellow makes such a bright spot on the porch.
These framework pieces stay on my front porch year round so that makes it even quicker to decorate by updating past front porch fall decor. All you have to do is add the appropriate color for the season. Quick, easy and cheap. That’s the way I roll. How about you?

That’s a great idea to use natural elements from your own backyard to decorate with. You’re right! A lot less work…and you save money too.
YES YES!! haha I am all about ease. Thanks Amy. π
Your porch is so pretty! I love how you added flowers to the vintage milk can, I have two of those on my porch and will have to try that! Pinning!
Thank you Roxanne. One of the best things about blogging is being inspired by something you see on a blog. Thanks for pinning! π
I love your front porch. I have always wanted brick steps and may add them when we update our porch next spring! Your dΓ©cor is lovely and I am all about inexpensive and effortless decorating!
Thanks Maureen. I do love my porch. And YES to cheap and easy decorating! π

Thank you Julie. I do get bored with the same ole decor but not if I can change it up a bit. π
I love the bursts of color from all the yellow!
I do too Mary. My porch is dark, so that really helps. π
Love the look! Very welcoming with just the right amount of balance and personality, fun! π

Thanks Kristi. I appreciate your comment. π
Love the bright yellow door and now I am on the look out for a wagon wheel. Very pretty.
Clearissa… I am often amazed what I find in Mr. Menace’s stash of treasures… I love this little wheel. π
I like reusing past ideas, too! Coming up with something new all of the time is difficult and often stressful and who needs that? π Love how you combined two years’ ideas then just added in the hat. π Fun!!!
Not to mention, EXPENSIVE! I do love new decor, but I get EXCITED when I figure out how to use what I already have and make it look totally different. Thanks Barb. π
What a pretty entrance I love the shade of blue. You have picked such festive fall decor which I love.
Thank you Maria! You are so kind. I do love blue. Thanks for stopping by! π
So pretty.. I have been so busy lately have not even given any thought to the front porch. Some great ideas .. thanks
I don’t always get around to it, but my front porch is fun to update. π
Love the blue and yellow together – wouldn’t have thought of combining those colours for fall – so clever! And I have the same watering can and some faded wicker pots and an old chair – think I’ll give this a shot. Thank you!
Oh boy! I’d love to see what you came up with Sarita. So much fun to hear that someone gets inspired here. π
I LOVE blue and yellow together! In fact, my kitchen is blue and yellow (mostly yellow, actually, but the hallway leading off of it is blue, so that counts, right?) I never seem to get around to really decorating my porch, but yours is beautiful. Maybe I’ll manage to do it one of these years.
Some years I just never get around to it. But then again, its a fun change of pace. Thanks Dawn.
