*You might call this a disclaimer, but I totally claim it, so that seems almost like an oxymoron to call it that, but ANYWAY….. These photos are awful. I am well aware of that. My bathroom is dark and the mirror is dirty. Let’s just say that gives the photos some charm. OK?*
I have always liked clothes, but when I was growing up we never had enough money for designer stuff or even the latest trends. It didn’t really bother me, but I did have a faint longing for the clothes that some of the other girls wore.

Now that I am an empty-nester, I indulge myself. I still don’t buy designer, I am too frugal for that, but I do love fashion and I do love buying clothes. However, when middle age hit, and my body shape changed, it wasn’t as much fun going clothes shopping. Things no longer fit like they used to and it was much more difficult and time consuming to find flattering clothes.
So when I heard about STITCH FIX, I signed up right away. It is an online styling service. You fill out an online profile about your sizes. You look at some pictures of outfits and indicate which ones you like and which ones you don’t, write a note to your stylist. (ex: I really need jeans! OR Don’t send me any jeans!) And then you set up a delivery date for your first fix. You will pay a $20 styling fee when your box ships. Your stylist will select 5 items from their inventory that she/he thinks fits your style.
Once you receive your box, you have 3 days to try everything on and decide what you would like to keep. You pay only for what you decide to keep and you send the others back in the included postage paid envelope. If you decide to keep all 5 items, you will get a 25% discount. And the $20 styling fee will go towards your payment if you purchase anything at all.
After a few boxes, your stylist will begin to see what you like and don’t like about what she sent you and her choices will adjust accordingly. Eventually, she will break your bank. LOL
might not be for everyone, but it works for me. I LOVE getting the box and opening it up and seeing what was sent. And then trying the pieces on and styling them different ways. Did you know that SHOES can totally change the way an outfit looks? Seriously, they do. And in a later post, I’ll be proving that.
If you look online you will find many many 30 year olds reviewing their Stitch Fix boxes. Now, lets see how it works for
the middle-aged a 55 year old.
And by the way, don’t worry if you aren’t a size 2 any more. (what? I was NEVER a size 2!! I went straight from a Girls size 14 to a Junior 7) Stitch Fix just recently added Plus sizes!
There is also Stitch Fix for MEN!
If you’d like to give Stitch Fix a try, you can click on any of my pictures or my referral links. If you do, I will receive a small commission, but you will NOT be charged any extra.
